DTN COMMENTS: The country is quiet this morning following yesterday's light
to moderate trade, with prices at mostly 170.00, $6.00 higher than the
previous week. Best early guesses are that just over 1,000 head moved in
Texas, 4,000-5,000 in Kansas, and 5,000-10,000 in Nebraska. It sounds like
business is done for the week in the South. But we should see more trade in
Nebraska since no dressed deals took place yesterday. Asking prices on
cattle left on lists in the North are around 267.00 plus. Beef cutouts are
expected to be lower with light to moderate box movement.

NOTE: Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at

anonymously and organized by state. General trends and summaries from this
data will be posted on the Daily Sales Reported to DTN page.
