DTN COMMENTS:  Some light trade is being reported in parts of the South. in 
Kansas deals are marked at $121, $.50 higher than last week's weighted 
average. Texas trade is marked at $120, about steady with last week's 
weighted average. Asking prices are around $122 to $124 in the South and 
$200 to $205 in the North. A very light scattered trade took place in parts 
of the South late yesterday afternoon at mostly $121, $.50 to $1 higher than 
last week's weighted averages, most sellers continued to hold out for higher 
money. Beef cutouts are expected to be higher with light to moderate box 
movement.

The Fed Cattle Exchange Auction today listed a total of 4,284 head (TX 2,180 
head, NE 2,067 head, KS 37 head), of which none actually sold. The reserve 
prices ranged from $120 to $128. Opening prices ranged from $118 to $126, high 
bids ranged from $119.50 to $120 (note: only six of 24 lots were even bid on).
